Concepts/Ideas/Themes

These three elements have been the everlasting fonts of creative inspiration to my work. I consider a work to be complete if I have been successful in bringing all three elements together in a single piece of work.

SENSUALITY: in the form of the human figure is seen in my ceramic works on a theme "in repose"

LIGHT:"evening glow", can well be representative of my belief that light in any of its facets must be the star of the show, to lend both drama and atmosphere to the work.

ATMOSPHERE:The recurring theme of trees in my work which is my passion, is the binding agent used to bear the forces of the three elements together. Hopefully , allowing the painting to be given meaning in the context in which it was created.

THE FUTURE

My recent work is taking me in a relentless path towards simplification, but not in any way minimalistic, but rather towards "the incomplete" I use this ploy as a trigger to the senses, allowing the viewer room to participate, interpret and be stimulated from his own bank of experiences and memories.

I see this as being in context to its relevance to the present, although , being as it is,. diametrically opposite to to-days flow towards overkill and overload of the senses.
